The Bite of The Mango

I have just started to read "The Bite of The Mango" By Mariatu Kamara and Susan McClelland.  This book is based on true events and is really good.  It is about a girl who lives in a small village in Sierra Leone.  Her story is about her village coming in contact with the rebels, a violent group of people that rampage viallages and citys with terror and torture.  Mariatu Is one of the unlucky ones and has to watch her village get tortured and killed. What will happen to her?  Find out by reading this book :)

Before I Fall

Aside from Beautiful Darkness, i am also reading Before i fall by Lauren Oliver.  I have only read the prologue and so far it seems like a really cool book!  I think this book will be about high school drama and what Samantha (the main character) has to do to gt her last day to live right.  This book seems like one of the books that will make you cry, be happy, and laugh.  I am excited to continue reading this book.

The Earthling

The Earthling by Brian Patten was about how life on earth was started.  At the start of this poem it talked about how life on earth began with inventions.  In the middle section it talked about how mistakes were made kind of like today (2000's).  In the ending it talked about how the earth is getting destroyed and how everyone is spreading apart (relationships and what not).  There is also a fire that spreads across the earth in the end of the poem our group figured that, that was the sun that caused the fire.

  I thought this poem was hard to figure out, but if you read each line carefully you can get the real meaning out of it.

Beautiful Darkness

    At the moment i am reading Beautiful Darkness.  So far this book has been much like the first one, "Beautiful Creatures".  Nothing much is happening in this book yet, Lena and Ethan are still together and everyone is still sad and depressed about what happened in the first book with Uncle Macon.

Why is reading important?

There are many reasons why reading is important.  Reading is important because it encourages us to think, and gets ideas going in our head.  Reading can keep you occupied and might help you relax.  It can increase your vocabulary and increase awareness.  Reading can give you information and can help you get more creative!  Reading could be your friend and take away your fears.  That is why reading is important!

As Ethan starts to spend more time with Lena he finds that there are many more things to like about Gatlin.  When Lena and Ethan find out about their families they uncover danger and mysteries.  Why is Ethan's house keeper Amma so scared about Lena and Ethan being close to each other?  What is going on with the dream Ethan has been having for almost forever?  What is Lena hiding from Ethan?

There was a girl
And in the end, there was a grave.


Personally i thought that this book was amazing!  When i started reading this book i thought that it was going to be about vampires and that kind of stuff.  After i got more into the book i realized that it was about romance and a dangerous mystery.  The ending of Beautiful Creatures would have to be the best because it is really intense.  I would recomend this book to people who like gothic romance novels.
